Meta begins global rollout of ads on Threads

Marketers can now manage and personalise campaigns through Meta’s Ads Manager.

Meta is rolling out ads to all users on Threads, globally, starting next week.

Threads, a conversation-style social media platform, was launched two years ago and now boasts more than 400 million monthly active users.

Meta first introduced ads to the platform in spring 2025. It is powered by the tech giant’s AI-powered ad system used across Facebook and Instagram.

For advertisers, it means they can personalise content to the same extent and extend their existing reach seamlessly by automatically adding Threads placements to Advantage+ and manual campaigns.

Since the initial launch of ads, Meta has added additional features including more ad formats such as a carousel and the ability to run Advantage+ catalogue and app ads.

It has extended third-party brand safety and suitability verification used across Facebook and Instagram into Threads feed through Meta Business Partners, stating that it knows “how important transparency and control are for businesses”.

Meta has also simplified its account management system, allowing brands to review their Threads accounts within the business portfolio and run ads from Ads Manager or cross-post organic content using Meta Business Suite.

The social media firm will roll out ads on Threads across all markets gradually, including the UK.
