Claude for small business will soon get AI-powered creations
Anthropic and Canva have come together to bring AI-powered campaign creation to Claude for small businesses.
Anthropic is the latest in a string of platforms that are integrating AI into marketing tools, with Google introducing AI tools for Ad Advisor, and Microsoft Advertising also updating AI Max tools.
This latest collaboration is part of Canva’s creative strategy to own the ‘creative layer’ inside existing AI platforms, rather than competing as a standalone design platform.
Within this partnership, Claude will be able to generate marketing material for small business owners through Canva. This will utilise business data pulled from campaign systems, CRMs, and web analytics, then adding branded marketing assets using Canva.
“When Claude identifies what’s selling, spots a seasonal trend, or surfaces a revenue insight, Canva seamlessly turns that moment into action: a two-week campaign built in Canva, with copy written and everything staged in HubSpot, ready to publish and watch your sales grow,” Canva said in a statement.
AI has already permeated into almost every facet of the advertising and campaign creation process, and has quickly transformed the industry with new tools and systems.
These tools are aimed at making brand-consistent content more accessible for small businesses which can’t dedicate the time and resources to intense marketing processes. Small businesses make up 44% of US GDP, with 74% of SMB owners saying digital platforms help them keep up with large organisations, Canva’s research outlined.
Leaders take
It’s certainly true that AI content creation tools lower the barrier of entry for SMBs in building the frameworks for campaigns, but it’s important to note that visibly AI-generated content brings scepticism from consumers – with half of consumers preferring that brands do not use generative AI in advertising, Gartner research shows.
While small businesses become dependent on AI tools to create their campaigns, large businesses can afford to hire agencies, directors, artists, and designers to carefully craft their campaigns to stand out from the crowds of similar and inevitably generic AI campaigns.
This has the potential to create a two-tier advertising landscape, with SMBs that rely on AI positioning themselves among a sea of other small advertisers doing the same.
To stand out and create effective marketing material, businesses of all sizes must ensure they have strong brand identity and image, prioritising quality campaigns over generic ad-slop.
