The influencer is facing legal action from Brazilian authorities over possible abusive practices in promoting betting platform.
Virginia Fonseca, a Brazilian digital influencer, TV host and businesswoman, has ended her commercial partnership with Blaze .
The announcement was made by VF Digital, Fonseca’s agency, in a post on Instagram last Friday (21 August), which said the agreement was terminated in accordance with the terms applicable to the contractual relationship.
The decision came after the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Federal District and Territories (MPDFT) filed a public civil action in July against Fonseca and Blaze.
The lawsuit questions practices related to the influencer’s advertising of bets and points to possible abusive practices in the promotion of the platform. The MPDFT also requested compensation for collective moral damages and the removal of content considered irregular.
Among the points raised by the Public Prosecutor’s Office is an ad placed by Fonseca during the 2026 World Cup. The Federal District Court subsequently ordered the removal of advertising content that did not meet the established requirements.
In addition to the lawsuit involving Fonseca, Blaze was fined R$ 2.3m by the Ministry of Finance over content on a YouTube channel involving João Caetano that was deemed to breach advertising rules as it contained elements that would appeal to children and teenagers.
The fine, imposed by the Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance (SPA/MF), is a separate case from the lawsuit filed by the MPDFT against Fonseca and Blaze. The SPA’s decision considered the operator’s responsibility for the advertising carried out in partnership with the influencer.
The legal process is ongoing. Fonseca’s defense, which includes lawyer Sanderson Mafra, has denied any wrongdoing on the part of the influencer and stated at the time that it would present its arguments and evidence during the course of the proceedings.
Blaze, for its part, stated it operated in accordance with current legislation and its partnerships and operations follow best market practices. The brand offered to provide clarifications to the competent authorities after being formally notified.
