Talent watch: WPP to cut hundreds of jobs globally

Clockwise: Rinaldi, Hawkins, Bradbury, Hunter

The latest round up of people moves include WPP, Netflix, The Trade Desk, and OpenAI.

WPP is expected to cut hundreds of jobs across the globe between now and the end of 2026, AdAge reported, as part of chief executive Cindy Roses’s ongoing ‘Elevate28’ strategy.

This will come to roughly 1% of the global headcount, and forms part of the strategy that looks to bring WPP back to growth by 2028 – targeting £500m in cost savings.

The redundancies will primarily affect ‘back office’ roles and VML – a WPP creative agency.

This was originally intended to come from structural cost savings – such as reducing corporate and support infrastructure, HR, and simplification of property.
