Genius Sports will be launching prediction.com through Legend, which it acquired earlier in 2026.
Genius Sports has launched its own prediction market platform, Prediction.com, which will let users discover, compare, and follow events and prediction market trends, including sports, politics, economics, and entertainment.
The platform has been launched through Legend, Genius Sports’ consumer media and technology business, which the company acquired earlier this year. It boasts the ability to reach millions of fans through its portfolio of sports brands.
Legend will use existing consumer and comparison technology, alongside a new “flagship brand for the rapidly expanding prediction market category”, the company confirmed in a statement.
Prediction.com aims to give users a single place to see how equivalent contracts are priced across different markets and venues from vendors such as Kalshi and Polymarket.
Sports fans will be able to see play-by-play data, served alongside dynamic probabilities, prices, and market signals before and during events.
Genius Sports already has its own real-time sports data, which will be integrated into the infrastructure for the prediction markets platform.
Mark Locke, co-founder and chief executive officer of Genius Sports said the appetite for prediction markets is here to stay, and while regulation may change the landscape, the media group aims to take advantage of the demand either way.
“Demand can endure while access narrows, activity falls or customers move between products. The distinction is between confidence in the underlying appetite for sports wagering and confidence in any particular platform’s current business model. Genius does not need to make the second bet to benefit from the first.”
The prediction market volume is expected to quadruple in 2026, and could reach an estimated $1trn by 2030, investment firm Bernstein has projected.
Regulators have set their sights on prediction markets, with some US states bringing legal action against them, questioning their authority to regulate sports betting. But, if prediction markets are restricted, Locke affirmed Genius Sports is ready.
He continued: “If prediction-market customers do not stick, the activity returns to the sportsbooks we already supply. Where there is no licensed sportsbook to return to, I expect the activity to be too large for a state to leave potentially billions of dollars untaxed for long, which still presents opportunity for Genius. If customers do stick, Genius can continue to benefit.”
