Advertisers and agencies can integrate third-party AI tools using Meta’s MCP and CLI for upgraded performance.
Meta ads AI connectors are letting advertisers and agencies create, analyse, and manage campaigns within the AI tools they are already using, without the need for further coding, API set-up, or developer credentials.
The AI ad connectors include Meta’s model context protocol (MCP) server and ads command line interface (CLI) – which gives advertisers a secure, Meta-authenticated connection between an ad account and AI agent.
This integrates seamlessly into advertisers’ existing workflows, so they can get detailed insights and metrics that are specific to a campaign, rather than just generic advice. This then connects between ad accounts directly into AI agents.
Meta ads AI connectors will be opened in beta to all eligible advertisers around the globe, letting them use preferred third-party AI tools to develop their campaigns without having to migrate to new tools.
Advertisers can benefit from cross-channel insights and ad campaign management tools – although most likely almost all advertisers will already have these tools in-house.
The benefit for Meta in this expansion is in keeping advertisers within its ecosystem, even if workflows move beyond its own products. The company has historically tied advertisers to its own products, so this illustrates a shift in strategy for Meta.
Meta’s AI and algorithm is powerful, so while the integration of AI tools could help advertisers scale their testing and optimisation, it’s yet to be revealed just how helpful this will be.
“Meta ads AI connectors represent the next step in our partnership with advertisers and agencies, meeting you in the tools you already use, with the full intelligence of Meta’s ads system behind every conversation,” the company confirmed in a statement.
“Use Meta ads AI connectors to leverage your AI tools for what they do best: cross-channel insights, custom workflows, and the flexibility to manage campaigns across publishers. You don’t have to choose.”
