The new product aims at boosting marketers design capabilities using AI.
Anthropic has launched Claude Design, a tool within Anthropic Labs that could help marketers create polished visual pieces like designs for social campaigns, slides, prototypes, and one-pagers.
The new features will be gradually rolled out to users, and is currently available in research preview for Claude pro, max, team, and enterprise subscribers.
The Claude Design tools can help build a design system for teams by reading design files and codebase – from there, each project can be automatically fitted with a brand’s style-guide including font, colours, and assets.
“Even experienced designers have to ration exploration – there’s rarely time to prototype a dozen directions, so you limit yourself to a few. And for founders, product managers, and marketers with an idea but not a design background, creating and sharing those ideas can be daunting,” Anthropic explained in a post on its website.
Users can use a range of sources from uploading images and documents, to starting from a text prompt, and using the web capture tool to take elements from thier website to make sure the prototypes resemble the real product.
Anthropic details the use cases for Claude Design, which include realistic prototypes, itch decks and presentations, marketing collateral, design explorations, product wireframes and mockups and frontier design.
“Claude Design gives designers room to explore widely and everyone else a way to produce visual work. Describe what you need and Claude builds a first version. From there, you refine through conversation, inline comments, direct edits, or custom sliders (made by Claude) until it’s right,” Anthropic said.
Crucially, these designs can be shared within an organisation, save them as a folder, PDF, PPTX, or standalone HTML files – or export to Canva. Canva has worked with Anthropic to develop the tools.
“At Canva, our mission has always been to empower the world to design, and that means bringing Canva to wherever ideas begin,” said Melanie Perkins, co-founder and chief exec of Canva.
“We’re excited to build on our collaboration with Claude, making it seamless for people to bring ideas and drafts from Claude design into Canva, where they instantly become fully editable and collaborative designs ready to refine, share, and publish.”
