Microsoft, Doordash, Monzo, IPA, and Deliveroo all make big people moves this week
Kya Sainsbury-Carter has announced that she will be leaving her position as corporate vice president at Microsoft Advertising. During her time at the tech firm she led the global advertising arm, overseeing a cross-functional team to drive transformation.
Before this, she held multiple senior leadership roles at Microsoft Advertising across sales strategy and operations, as well as retail media and partner sales.
“With humility comes self-awareness. Of when it’s time to turn the reins over to new thinking and new leaders,” she wrote in a LinkedIn post. “Microsoft has been my identity for a long time… And I am excited to reclaim my identity just for me, not tethered to where I work or what I do, but tethered to who I am.”
Matt Derella will take on Sainsbury-Carter’s role in an expanded capacity. Derella joined LinkedIn (owned by Microsoft) in December 2024 as global sales lead for the advertising business and will now lead LinkedAds and go-to-market for Microsoft Advertising.
“Both businesses will continue to operate as distinct organisations focused on helping customers grow by connecting them with the more than one billion LinkedIn members and Microsoft users of Copilot, Bing, Xbox, Outlook, Edge, Windows, and MSN,” LinkedIn confirmed.
