Talent watch: Dan Taylor appointed as Flutter CEO

Ballet, Taylor, Odeneye, Barnett

The latest round up of people moves include Flutter, Havas, Stellantis, Spotify, and more.

Flutter Entertainment has announced that Dan Taylor will take a position as chief executive, and will join Flutter’s board of directors as of October 1, 2026.

Incumbent Peter Jackson will step down at the end of September, but will remain as an advisor until the end of the year to support a transition.

Taylor currently heads up Flutter’s international division, having expanded the strategic acquisitions and building organic growth. In his position as Flutter president, Taylor was responsible for commercial delivery across the company’s portfolio.

He previously held roles as chief executive officer of Paddy Power Betfair, as well as managing director of the UK and Ireland, and retail managing director.

John Bryant, chair of the board, commented: “The Board is pleased to appoint Dan as Flutter’s next Group Chief Executive Officer. He has an outstanding track record of delivering results, building high-performing teams and leading complex international businesses. Dan’s breadth of experience and responsibilities across the Group, combined with his deep understanding of the industry, give us every confidence that he is the right person to lead Flutter into its next phase of growth.

WPP cuts another 1,000 roles

The “Elevate 28” strategy at WPP has seen another round of layoffs, with 1,000 more roles set to be cut in the upcoming months.

This adds up to around 11,000 lost jobs at WPP since the beginning of 2026. This is a total loss of roughly 6.4% year-on-year as of June 2026.

Omnicom Media: Mike Feldman as global head of commerce

Mike Feldman joins Omnicom Media as global head of commerce. Feldman joins from his position as senior vice president of commerce at Flywheel.

Taylor commented on LinkedIn: I’ll be diving into where commerce is going, how it makes the broader marketing system smarter, and how we connect media, retail, identity, AI and measurement to drive better outcomes.

Havas Village: Patrick Affleck as CEO

Chief executive of Havas Media UK and Ireland, Patrick Affleck, has been appointed as chief executive of Havas Village in a shake up of executives.

In this position, Affleck will have responsibility for creative, data, PR, consulting, employee branding, and design capabilities.

Stellantis: Oliver François steps down as CMO

Chief marketing officer of Stellantis, Oliver François, is leaving his position. He also serves as chief executive officer of Fiat.  

François oversaw iconic ads for the company, including multiple Super Bowl commercials.

Spotify: Ruth Ballett leads international business marketing

Spotify has welcomed Ruth Ballett to lead international business marketing.

Ballet confirmed in a LinkedIn post:

“Spotify is a true global culture engine, and as we enter a new era of more interactive and personalized experiences across both audio and video, the connection between creators, audiences and brands has never been stronger.

“I’m thrilled to lead our international business marketing teams across EMEA, JAPAC, and LATAM to help brands show up meaningfully in culture and drive real business impact.”

Zeal: York Scheuneman as VP of games

York Scheunemann, ex-Google EMEA business lead for customer programs, has joined German lottery firm Zeal

Scheunemann also sits on the board for hospitality firm EHL Group

LiveRamp: Hannah Barnett to lead brand sales

Hannah Barnett, former Mail Metro Media chief client officer, has joined LiveRamp to head up brand sales for EMEA.

Barnett said on LinkedIn: “Very excited to share that I’ve joined LiveRamp as Vice President, Brand Sales, UK & MENA.

“I’m really looking forward to getting out to meet clients and prospective clients across the region.”

Jellyfish: Seun Odeneye as chief media officer

Jellyfish has appointed Seun Odeneye as its new chief media officer. He will oversee Jellyfish’s paid and earned media practice. 

Odeneye previously held a position at IPG Mediabrands as managing director of investments.

Ogilvy: Stephen Maycock as head of UK influence strategy

Stephen Maycock has been promoted from director for influence to UK influence creative strategy lead at Ogilvy

Maycock will also pick up an expanded position in Open X, the WPP agency group for Coca-Cola.
