Ambassadors on eBay will now be able to create and share affiliate links within its app.
eBay has added native link creation to its app to help brand ambassadors create and share affiliate links seamlessly.
As part of the update, the e-commerce platform’s existing Partner Network’s Smart Share Chrome extension will be brought onto the app for ambassador users.
eBay confirmed the updates in an email: “You can now create affiliate links directly from the eBay app with the latest version of the app on iOS or Android.
“We’ve also introduced Smart Share for Ambassadors. This Chrome extension allows you to create affiliate links directly while browsing eBay.”
The company claims the new, simplified process removes previous friction points by enabling ambassadors to create affiliate links seamlessly on mobile rather than going through a separate portal.
eBay’s ambassador programme has been active since April 2025, and offers users the opportunity to showcase their partnerships with sellers and buyers.
The Chrome extension, Smart Share, enables affiliates to create tracking links without the need to copy a URL to be run through the Partner Network Portal.
Instead, as users are browsing eBay, the Smart Share extension can be used to generate an affiliate link from the page itself with the deal flag feature identifying commissionable items.
Ambassadors have been given more control over their storefronts and curated collections since the affiliate programme launched, with affiliates able to display more saved items, pin their favourite collections, and remove sold-out inventory.
eBay’s previous ambassador programme, the EPN seller incentive, was ditched in favour of this one, which has expanded to include sellers worldwide. However, the new programme has a more restrictive commission structure and limited assortment, so is not intended as a direct replacement.
