Snapchat users will now see ads in their conversations with AI agents
Snapchat is introducing AI sponsored snaps, which will see ads integrated into conversations that users have with AI agents within the social media platform.
Snapchat boasts roughly 474 million daily active users worldwide, and is particularly popular among the younger demographic (15 to 25-year-olds), often breaking into the top ten most popular global social networking platforms.
Within Snapchat, AI agents have been interacting with users since 2023, with over half a billion messages to the platform’s flagship assistant ‘My AI’ in the first quarter of Q1 in 2026 alone.
The sponsored snap ads will be integrated directly into conversations, with users choosing the brand, asking questions, and receiving personalised recommendations within the conversation.
“Conversation is becoming the most valuable real estate in advertising,” said Ajit Mohan, chief business officer at Snap Inc.
“AI is accelerating that shift, turning chat into the place where people discover products, ask questions, and make decisions in real time. The real opportunity isn’t just putting ads into those environments, it’s designing formats that feel native to how people already talk. That’s what AI sponsored snaps are about – pairing the scale of nearly a billion monthly users with AI-powered conversations that drive real engagement and action.”
Sponsored snaps, the ads that show in users’ conversation home screens, have a 22% higher conversion rate compared to other inventories, with 20% lower cost per action, and a twice as high conversion per full-screen ad view.
The partnership will be launched with Experian with other brands are expected to follow.
For advertisers, this is a way for them to build their brand awareness, as customers can ask questions within the conversational nature of the platform.
Snapchat isn’t the only platform integrating ads. ChatGPT is trialling ads in-platform, taking advantage of active and engaged user bases who are often searching for information.
